What Are Incident Flags?
Incident flags are visual indicators shown on a user’s profile to help quickly identify patterns or serious issues. Skillko uses a traffic light system to make incident severity easy to understand at a glance.
Accessing Incident Settings
To manage how incident flags work:
From the main taskbar, scroll down to Account Settings.
Click Incident Settings.
Incident Flag Types Explained
Grey Flag – Early Warning
Triggered after: 1 incident
Purpose: Indicates an early warning that an issue has occurred and should be reviewed.
A grey flag helps highlight isolated incidents before they become recurring issues.
Yellow Flag – Emerging Pattern
Triggered after: 2 incidents
Purpose: Indicates a pattern may be developing.
When a yellow flag appears, it’s a good time to assess the situation more closely and determine whether preventative action is needed.
Red Flag – Critical Incident
Triggered after: 3 incidents
Purpose: Signals a critical threshold has been reached.
A red flag means the same or similar issue has occurred multiple times and requires immediate attention. At this stage, escalation or formal intervention may be required.
Customising Incident Flag Thresholds
The incident flag system is designed to be flexible and can be tailored to match your organisation’s risk tolerance.
From Incident Settings, you can:
Disable the grey flag
Disable the yellow flag
Disable the red flag
Change how many incidents trigger each flag
Example: Making One Incident Critical
In some environments - such as health and safety–sensitive workplaces - a single incident may be considered critical.
You can configure Skillko so that:
The grey and yellow flags are disabled
A red flag is triggered after just one incident
This ensures your team is alerted immediately and can respond quickly and decisively.
Automatic Removal of Incident Flags
Skillko also allows you to automatically remove incident flags over time.
When enabled, flags will clear automatically based on the cadence you set.
When disabled, flags will remain visible indefinitely, providing a complete incident history.
