Why Do Jobs Show as Overdue or Invalidated, and How Can They Be Resolved?

When working with service jobs, you may encounter situations where jobs are marked as overdue or invalidated. These issues often arise due to compliance requirements, validation errors, or procedural missteps. Below, we outline common causes and provide actionable steps to resolve these issues effectively.

Common Causes of Overdue or Invalidated Jobs

1. "Do Not Post" Requirement

If a job includes a court requirement of "Do not post," posting service does not count as valid service. The job will remain unresolved and overdue until a valid service type is completed that complies with the court’s requirements. To resolve this:

  • Use your existing documents or print a new set if needed.

  • Continue attempts to complete a valid, compliant service to resolve the job.

2. Invalidated Service Due to Data Mismatch

A served job may show as overdue if the original service entry was invalidated by a compliance check. Common reasons include:

  • The reported age of the person served does not match the date of birth on file.

  • The service is missing a physical description of the individual served or the reported physical description doesn't match our records.

To resolve this:

  1. Re-log the service with the corrected information; if you are unsure, you will need to re-serve and get verbal confirmation from the subject served.

  2. Submit your attempt/service entry with relevant notes and select the actual date the attempt/service occurred.

  3. Address any GPS or photo upload requirements as prompted.

  4. Ensure all information aligns with validation rules before resubmitting for review.

3. Newly Received Jobs Marked as Overdue

Sometimes, a newly received job may already show as overdue due to the timer starting before you began. This can happen if the job was sent or marked as received earlier. To address this:

  • Proceed to make a service attempt as soon as possible.
