Connect Business Check to your own payment methods

Connect Business Check to your own payment methods. Check agreements, customer-type templates and how the credit check is used as decision…

Connect a credit check to your own payment method, for example, an invoice that your company issues itself.

Who is this guide for?

This guide applies to Abicart's Business Check. Older settings and images also use the name Bisnode. The connection is an activated add-on and requires a valid agreement and the correct information for the credit check service in question. Check availability and current price under My subscription or ask support; an old fixed monthly price is not a general price quotation.

Business Check is intended for your own payment methods. If the payment and credit assessment are handled by an external checkout or invoice provider, you must follow that provider's terms. Do not activate an extra check just because the payment option is called invoice.

1. Prepare agreements and login details

Check with the provider that your account is authorized to perform the personal and business credit checks you need. You need the correct company/customer ID, username, password, and control templates. Do not share passwords or information from credit checks in a public support thread.

Information about the service is available from Business Check. The fact that the service has changed owner or brand does not mean that another account or API will automatically work in the existing connection.

2. Activate the add-on and select payment methods

Order or check the add-on under My subscription. Then open the settings for Business Check/Bisnode in the store's administration. If they are missing, support must check the store's activation before you proceed.

Enter the provider's account details and select your own payment methods that will use the check. Select the correct template for private individuals and companies, respectively. A missing control template means that the relevant credit check will not be performed. Therefore, check both the selected payment methods and templates; an activated add-on does not mean that all purchases are checked.

3. Check what the outcome means

A credit check is a basis for a decision, not a payment guarantee. It does not take over your claim, collect the payment, or eliminate the risk of credit loss. You are responsible for your own credit terms and for ensuring that the information is used in a permissible manner.

Before use, verify that the correct customer type and payment method receive the intended check. Use the provider's designated test procedure; do not run a real credit check on a person just to test a setting.

Troubleshoot without turning off the check

  • No check is performed: check the add-on, selected payment method, and template for the customer type.

  • Login or agreement error: check the account details, the agreement's permissions, and any available balance with the provider.

  • The check fails: read the actual error message. Do not treat a technical error as an approved credit decision, and do not remove the check to bypass the error.

  • Multiple sub-stores: check for support with the support team before implementation. Do not assume that the main store's setting automatically applies to all sub-stores.

Quick start

  1. Confirm that you are using your own invoice or another custom payment method.

  2. Check for the add-on and a valid provider agreement.

  3. Enter account details, customer type templates, and payment methods.

  4. Verify the check's application and error handling before using it for live purchases.

Subscription: Business Check is not automatically included just because the store can offer invoicing. An activated add-on and a separate service agreement are required; the current price and the store's support must be confirmed when ordering.
