How it Works

There are several features you can take advantage of with the integration for Slack:

  • Users can mark tasks as Complete directly from notifications

  • Aboard can send automated (and personalized) messages to any of your Slack channels

  • Aboard can send automated (and personalized) messages to any users in Slack

Setup

  1. Go to Settings => Integrations:

2. Click Connect next to Slack

3. Identify your Slack workspace:

4. Login to your Slack workspace:

5. Allow Aboard access:

6. You (and the rest of your team in Slack) will now see Aboard in your apps section and app drawer.

If they don't, they can click the + symbol beside Apps on the sidebar and then click on Aboard. Either way, it'll appear once they begin getting notifications!

Users may need to refresh their Slack environment to see the application added to the Apps section/their Apps drawer (this will not affect their ability to receive notifications).

This is done by:

  • Clicking Ctrl + R on Windows with your Slack window open

  • Clicking Cmd + R on Mac with your Slack window open

Once connected - all users will start receiving Slack notifications by default:

FAQ

Q: Once I connect Slack to my workspace, will everybody else see it?
They'll see it as soon as they refresh Slack, or as soon as they're assigned a task or journey.

Q: Can automated Slack messages be sent to private channels?
Yes. Aboard's automated Slack messages can be sent to any channels or individuals within a workspace. However, in order to send to a private channel, you'll need to manually add the Aboard Slack app to the channel in order for it to show in Aboard. More details on the Slack Task page: Slack Tasks
