How to Create a Quiz?

In this article, you will learn how to create quizzes on the AcademyOcean platform, use different question types, add multimedia, and leverage artificial intelligence

Quizzes are an effective way to check knowledge retention, assess learners’ understanding, and automate the certification process. On the platform, you can create both simple quizzes and complex assessments with various question types, multimedia, and flexible settings.

A quiz is part of a course, so to create a quiz, you need to either create a course or add a quiz to an existing one. To create a quiz, click the “Add Quiz” button:

Enter the quiz name and click “Create”:

After that, you will enter the quiz builder. Here, you can add questions manually or generate them using the AI assistant:

Creating Questions on the Platform 📌

In the builder, click “Add Question” — a panel with question types will appear:

The platform offers the following question types:

📎 Basic Question Types

  • One Choice

  • Multiple Choice

  • Written Answer

📎 Advanced Question Types

  • Yes / No

  • NPS

  • Star rating

  • Emoji rating

  • File upload

  • Video

  • Audio

  • Matching

  • Rearrangement

  • Enter Word

  • Paste Word

  • Hotspot Choice

After selecting a question type, you can add the question text, answer options (if applicable), and mark the correct answers:

You can also add various multimedia to each question and customize settings (available settings depend on the question type):


Generating a Quiz Using AI 🤖

On the platform, you can not only create quizzes manually but also generate questions using AI. To generate questions with AI, click “Create with AI Author” and select the desired format:

After creating the questions, you can add custom settings to your quiz by going to the Settings tab. Each setting is explained in this article.

Once you’ve finished configuring your quiz, click “Save” and then publish it by clicking the publication icon — the quiz will become available within the course.
