Track payments and transfers

Updated yesterday

Monitor payments and transfers that flow through Acctual's flexible payment options and transfers system.

What you can track now

Currently, you can track transactions that happen through flexible payment options:

Incoming payments:

  • Payments from clients who use your payment link

  • Payments processed through Acctual's payment system

  • Automatically matched to invoices

Outgoing transfers:

  • Transfers you initiate between currencies (f2c, c2f, c2c)

  • On-ramping and off-ramping transactions

How to track payments and transfers

  1. Go to the Payments page in the sidebar

  2. View the Transactions section

Here you will see a list of all transactions processed through flexible payment options, including:

  • Transaction type (payment or transfer)

  • Status (processing, completed, failed)

  • Amount and currency

  • Date and time

  • Linked invoice number (for payments)

  • Transaction fees

Click on any transaction to see detailed information.

What about manual payments?

If you use Manual payment details (clients pay directly to your bank or wallet outside of Acctual), those payments do NOT currently appear in the Transactions list.

For manual payments, you need to:

  1. Check your bank account or wallet directly

  2. Manually match the payment to the invoice in Acctual

See our guide on Match Payments to Invoices for step-by-step instructions.

Coming soon: automatic payment scanning

We are building a feature that will automatically scan your connected bank accounts and wallets for ALL incoming payments, even if they did not happen through Acctual.

This means:

  • Payments made outside the payment link will be detected

  • Manual payments will appear in your Transactions list

  • Easier payment matching and reconciliation

  • Complete view of all funds coming into your accounts

This feature is coming soon. We will notify you when it is available.

Transaction status explained

  • Processing: The transaction is being processed by the payment network or blockchain. This usually takes a few minutes to a few hours.

  • Completed: The transaction has been successfully processed and funds have been delivered.

  • Failed: The transaction could not be completed. Funds will be returned to the source. Check your email for details about why the transaction failed.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I not see a payment that my client made?

If your client paid using Manual Payment Details (outside of Acctual), the payment will not appear in Transactions until our automatic scanning feature launches. For now, check your bank or wallet directly and manually match the payment.

Where can I see the fees for a transaction?

Click on any transaction in the Transactions list to see a detailed breakdown, including fees.

Can I filter transactions by invoice or date?

Yes. Use the filters at the top of the Transactions page to filter by date range, transaction type, status, or linked invoice.

How long does it take for a payment to show as completed?

Crypto payments usually complete within minutes (depending on blockchain network). Fiat payments can take 1–3 business days.

What happens if a transaction fails?

Funds will be returned to the source account. You will receive an email explaining why the transaction failed. Your client may need to retry the payment.
