Logging out ends your Acenda Admin session in your browser, so no one else can open your account from that computer. It only takes two clicks, and it matters most on a shared or public computer, or before you hand your device to someone else.
Closing the tab isn't the same as logging out. Your session stays active for a while after you close Acenda Admin, so always click Logout when you're on a computer other people use.
How to log out
On any page in Acenda Admin, click the round profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
A menu opens. It shows your name and email address at the top, followed by Account Settings and Logout. Click Logout.
The option briefly changes to Signing out…. After a second or two, you're taken to the Acenda sign-in page. That means you're logged out.
What logging out covers
Other tabs: Any other Acenda Admin tabs open in the same browser are logged out too. They switch to the sign-in page the next time they load data (within a few minutes), or straight away if you refresh them.
Other devices: Logging out on one computer or browser doesn't log you out anywhere else. Log out on each device you've used.
Automatic sign-out: Even if you never click Logout, Acenda asks you to sign in again 10 hours after you signed in, or about 30 minutes after you close all your Acenda Admin tabs.
Signing back in
To sign back in, go to Acenda Admin and you'll see the sign-in page.
Tip: Sign in with Google. Acenda supports Google Single Sign-On, and we strongly recommend it. It's quicker than typing your password and a 2FA code every time. On the sign-in page, click Sign in with Google and choose your work Google account. If Google sign-in isn't working for your account yet, contact Acenda Support and we'll turn it on for you.
If you sign in with your email and password instead, a two-factor authentication (2FA) code is required for password sign-in. Troubleshooting and FAQ
The page looks wrong or won't update, even after logging out and back in. Your browser may be showing old, stored files. Do a hard refresh to load the latest version of Acenda:
Windows or Linux (Chrome, Firefox, Edge): press
Ctrl + Shift + RMac (Chrome, Firefox): press
Cmd + Shift + RMac (Safari): press
Cmd + Option + R
I see "Unable to sign out right now. Please try again." Acenda couldn't finish logging you out, often because of a brief connection problem. Check your internet connection, refresh the page, and click Logout again.
Another tab still shows Acenda Admin after I logged out. That tab is already logged out. Refresh it and it switches to the sign-in page.
I was logged out without clicking Logout. Sessions end automatically 10 hours after you sign in, or about 30 minutes after you close all your Acenda Admin tabs. Sign in again.
