How are Video Interviews assessed?

Updated over a week ago

Depending on the program(s) you’ve applied for, they may choose to rate your Video Interview submission themselves or have the Acuity Insights team rate the submission and provide a score to the program. We suggest reviewing any content that the admission teams at the specific program(s) you’ve applied for have shared to better understand their rating system and bias-mitigation processes.

Acuity-Rated: The Acuity Insights team evaluates your interview and provides a score to the program.

Measures to reduce bias

Raters will use the program’s chosen rubric to ensure alignment with its goals and evaluation criteria. To help minimize bias, each applicant’s responses will generally be scored by multiple raters. All raters – whether from Acuity or the program – will follow a structured set of rating guidelines and draw on insights from comprehensive training. This process is designed to enhance rating accuracy and reduce rater bias.

It is important to note that Video Interviews is not a test or assessment, but a customizable admissions tool designed to support programs in gathering authentic applicant insight.
