Common Casper Test Reservation (and Rescheduling) Issues

I can’t create an Acuity Insights Assessments (a Casper) reservation, how can I fix this?

Updated over a week ago

Here are the most common issues applicants have when reserving or rescheduling their Casper test:

  1. No shared Casper test date for the selected programs.

  2. You have an existing reservation (completed or missed).

  3. No test dates for the current admissions cycle or the final test date has passed.

  4. A program’s required ID number(s) are not available yet.

Please refer to the guidelines below on how to resolve these issues. If, however, after reviewing this information you are still experiencing an issue, please contact the Acuity Insights Team via the chat bubble located in the bottom right-hand corner of our website or by sending an email to support@acuityinsights.app.

1. No shared Casper test date for the selected programs.

In order to add multiple programs to your distribution list when reserving your Casper test, you need to ensure that they all require the same Casper test type and that they all share at least one test date in common. The reservation page will not allow you to book your test otherwise.

Before making your reservation, please consult our Dates & Fees page to confirm if your programs of interest require the same Casper test type and have any shared test dates. Alternatively, you can also see the available test dates in Step 4 on the reservations page when selecting different schools.

Example: If you needed to take a Casper test as part of the 2022-2023 admission cycle for the Medicine programs at the University of Alberta, University of Manitoba and University of Ottawa you would notice that our Dates & Fees page only lists a few test dates in common. This is due to the University of Ottawa having its first test date much later in the cycle as compared to the other two universities.

In this case, to make a reservation with all three universities on your distribution list you would need to pick either October 6th, October 13th or October 20th, 2022.

If there are no shared test dates for all of your programs of interest, please select only the programs that have the earliest test dates and finalize your reservation.

You will be able to add the remaining program(s) to your distribution list at a later date (i.e., once the first testing opportunity has passed for the remaining program). To add additional programs to your distribution list, please follow the instructions in this article. Note that programs must be added before their individual distribution deadline, as listed on the Dates & Fees page.

Example: If you needed to take a Casper test as part of the 2022-2023 admission cycle for the Medicine programs at the University of Alberta, University of Ottawa and Dalhousie University you would notice that our Dates & Fees page does not list any test dates shared by all three universities.

In this case, you would need to make a reservation for either July 7th, August 11th or August 30th, 2022 with only the University of Alberta and Dalhousie University on your distribution list.

You would then be able to add the University of Ottawa to your distribution list after their first test date on October 6th, 2022. Please note that programs added to your distribution list after your results were initially shared will receive your results within 1 business day.

2. You have an existing reservation (completed or missed).

If you already have an existing reservation, regardless of whether you have completed or even missed the test, you will be unable to make a new reservation for the same Casper test type within the same admission cycle. The reservation page will prevent you from doing so as applicants cannot complete the same Casper test type more than once per admission cycle. This is true even if you missed your test reservation.

If you have already completed the same Casper test type required by your program(s) of interest, instead of reserving an additional test you can add the program(s) to your distribution list by following the instructions in this article. Note that programs must be added before their individual distribution deadline, as listed on the Dates & Fees page.

Example: You might have completed a US Medicine Casper test during the beginning of the 2022-2023 admission cycle, and later decide to apply to more programs than originally selected. You cannot and do not need to complete another US Medicine Casper test for the additional programs. Instead of booking a new test, you will still be able to add additional programs to the distribution list of the existing test reservation.

If you have missed your test, you do not need to make a new reservation. Instead, you will need to reschedule your existing reservation by following these steps. Please be mindful that if the missed test date was the final testing opportunity for one or more of the programs on your distribution list, you will need to contact the Acuity Insights Team via the orange chat bubble located in the bottom right-hand corner of our website or by sending an email to support@acuityinsights .app for us to remove said program(s) before you can reschedule your test. You can check our Dates & Fees page to confirm this information.

3. No test dates for the current admissions cycle or the final test date has passed.

Some programs do not have tests until later in the admission cycle. Before attempting to make a reservation, please check the Dates & Fees page to confirm if they have any published test dates within the current admissions cycle. If no dates are available, you will need to wait until your program(s) of interest finalize their schedule and their future testing opportunities are posted to our Dates & Fees page. Please continue to check back regularly.

Conversely, it might be the case that the final testing opportunity for one or more of your programs of interest has passed. You will need to refer to the Dates & Fees page to confirm that information. In this situation, you will not be able to reserve a Casper test for that program as part of the current admission cycle.

4. A program’s required ID number(s) are not available yet.

Some programs require an ID number to be listed when making a reservation or adding a program to your distribution list. These ID numbers are used to help match your Acuity Insights results with the rest of your application.

Oftentimes, ID numbers are provided by programs or application portals when you have completed the necessary application steps. This means that in most cases, you will need to submit your application prior to reserving your Casper test.

Please refer to our Dates & Fees page to view the ID requirements for each program.

If you are having difficulty locating the required IDs, please contact the individual program(s) and/or application portals for further assistance.

Note that inputting an incorrect ID can lead to your results not being matched with your application.
