OMSAS ID Requirements

Reserving a Casper test without your OMSAS ID Number

Updated over a week ago

To reserve your Casper test or to add programs to your distribution list, applicants generally must provide all required student/application ID numbers upfront. These ID numbers are usually provided by programs or application portals when you have completed the necessary application steps.

However, we recognize that many applicants to Ontario medicine programs may wish to take their Casper test prior to the opening of the application portal. This will prevent them from receiving the necessary ID number needed to complete their reservation.

If you do not have your OMSAS ID number yet, you may reserve your Casper test with a temporary ID number and update your account after having received the correct one.

When asked for your 6-digit OMSAS ID number please use 800000 as your temporary ID number.

It is imperative that you update your ID number on your Acuity Insights account once you have received the correct one. Not having the correct ID number may affect the distribution of your results.

You can check and update your ID number by following this link if you are signed into your Acuity Insights account.

You can also access a list of your program IDs in your Acuity Insights account by selecting your name (in the top right-hand corner), then Account. In the IDs tab, there will be a blue pencil icon next to any editable IDs.

If the pencil icon doesn’t appear, please contact the Acuity Insights Team by clicking on the chat bubble in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen when in your Acuity Insights account or by emailing support@acuityinsights.app to indicate the following:

  1. The specific name of the ID(s) you would like to update

  2. The correct number for the ID(s)

Once your ID has been updated, the new information will be made available to programs on your distribution list within 24 hours. There will be no further action required on your part.
