Why am I unable to reserve or reschedule my Casper test?

I can’t reserve a Casper test, how can I fix this?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Here are the main reasons applicants may face errors when reserving or rescheduling your Casper test:

  1. Your selected programs don’t share a test date

  2. You already have a reservation (completed or missed)

  3. No available test dates in this admissions cycle or the final date has passed

Below are solutions for each issue. If you still have problems, reach out to the Acuity Insights Support Team using the chat bubble at the bottom right of our site or email support@acuityinsights.app.

Selected programs don’t share a test date

To reserve multiple programs in one Casper test, ensure they:

  • Use the same Casper test type

  • Have at least one matching test date

Use the Dates and Fees page or Step 4 in the reservation page on your account to check common dates.

Example :

For Medicine in the 2024–2025 cycle applying to Alberta, Manitoba and Ottawa: only Oct 6, 13 or 20 matched all three.

Choose one of these to include all programs.

If there’s no shared date, reserve a date common to the programs with the earliest test dates. After your test, add any remaining programs before their distribution deadline.

Example:

Applying to Alberta, Dalhousie and Ottawa: reserve July 7, Aug 11 or 30 with Alberta and Dalhousie first.

Then, after Ottawa’s first test on Oct 6, add Ottawa before the listed deadline. Added programs receive results within one business day.

You already have a reservation (completed or missed)

If you already reserved or took (or missed) a Casper of a given type in this cycle, you cannot reserve another of the same type.

  • Completed test? Instead of reserving again, just add new programs to your distribution list, before their distribution deadlines. If you have already completed a test with the same type the system will not allow you to reserve another for that same cycle.

  • Missed test? Reschedule the existing reservation. If your program’s final test date has passed, it will no longer appear when reserving your test.

⚠️ If it was the final opportunity for a program, contact Acuity Support to remove it before rescheduling. Confirm on the Dates and Fees page that it was indeed a final testing opportunity.

No test dates yet or final date passed

Some programs release dates later in the admission cycle:

  • No dates yet? Wait and check regularly the Dates and Fees page.

  • Final date passed? You can’t reserve for that program this cycle, check Dates and Fees for confirmation.

Additional notes

  • One test per type per admissions cycle: You can only take a Casper test once for each test type within the same cycle. Learn more here.

  • Multiple test types = multiple tests: If you've applied to programs under different test types, you must complete a separate Casper test for each one. More info here.

  • Application vs. test deadlines: Program application deadlines may differ from Acuity Insights test deadlines. If you can still reserve a test date or add the program to your distribution list, your results will be valid and delivered to the program for admissions consideration.

  • Contact programs directly: Acuity Insights works with programs to determine test dates and deadlines but is not involved in admissions decisions. For questions about a program’s deadlines or requirements, refer to its admissions resources or contact them directly.
