Unveil captivating secrets and surprise your audience with the Wipe Module, a dynamic tool designed to add intrigue and interaction to your ads. With the Wipe Module, you can create mesmerizing backgrounds and foregrounds that users can wipe away to reveal hidden content beneath. Import different brushes and specify pixel-based parameters, determining the percentage of pixels required to be wiped away for the content to be fully revealed.

Use cases

  • Create hidden content that can be discovered by wiping away an obstraction

  • Create a sense of curiosity for the user and make your ad highly interactable

Example

This example case shows how the wipe module can be used to present an exciting interaction to your users. The scratching device is set to always be shown and the assets placed strategically to create the illusion of scratching free a frozen window.

As with all examples, you can request us to copy them over to your company so you can look at how they are built in detail.

Canvas background

Here, you can upload an asset that will be wipeable. All pixels that are opaque will count towards the percentage that can be wiped away.

Below, there are the typical image settings, so you can position it responsively.

Required wipe

Here, you can specify how much % of the image has to be wiped away for it to count as finished and fade out completely. Achieving this will also trigger the "Wipe finished" trigger, which you can utilize from the interactions tab.

It is recommended to not use a value > 95%.

Timeout

Here you can set up a timeout duration, after which the "Wipe timeout" trigger will be triggered.

Brush settings

You can also change the way the brush behaves. You can upload a brush image, which will always display when the user is actively wiping. Toggling the "Always display the brush" setting will cause the brush image to never disappear, even when the user releases his finger from the wipe module.

"Use different eraser shape" will unlock another asset dropzone, where you can drop a brush asset that will be invisible, but influence the shape of the area that gets cleared by wiping.

Lastly, the "Brush size" setting lets you scale the size of either the default brush, or your custom uploaded brush asset.

Properties & Clickout

As for the Background module, the Wipe module allows you to change different properties like the opacity seperately in the "Properties" tab.

Also, you can set up a clickout link for the Wipe module as usual.

Interactions

The Wipe offers all standard triggers & actions that the Background module offers as well. Furthermore, the Wipe module offers:

Triggers

  • Wipe start = Triggers as soon as a user started wiping

  • Wipe finished = Triggers as soon as the wipe percentage has been reached

  • Wipe timeout = Triggers once the timeout duration has been reached

Actions for other modules

The Wipe module offers no actions for other modules to trigger.
