Dashboards

Create, share, and customize Environet Dashboards with live widgets

Dashboards give you a live view of the devices and parameters that matter most to you. Each dashboard is made of widgets: building blocks you can add, resize, and rearrange for each site, team, or use case.

Viewing your dashboards

Select Dashboards in the left navigation panel to see every dashboard you have access to.

Use the search bar to find a dashboard by name, or by any Tags in its description. Each card shows the dashboard’s widget types and its timeframe. A people icon on the card means the dashboard is shared with your organization. Dashboards without the icon are private and visible only to you. The ⋮ menu on each card lets you clone, share, or delete that dashboard.

To switch dashboards while viewing one, open the dropdown menu next to the dashboard name and pick another. To favorite a dashboard, click the star next to its name while viewing it. Favorited dashboards appear first in the Dashboards list.

Creating a dashboard

Click + Create Dashboard in the top right of the Dashboards page. Give it a name and an optional description (type @ to add a Tag here to make it easier to search for from the dashboard list page), then start adding widgets.

Dashboard controls

The controls in the top right corner of a dashboard apply to every widget on it:

  • Timeframe: Choose the period your widgets show, such as Last 6 hours.

  • Playback controls: Pause live updates, or step backward and forward through time.

  • + Add Widget: Add a new widget to the dashboard.

  • Settings (gear icon): Edit the name and description, or clone, share, or delete the dashboard.

Sharing dashboards

New dashboards are private: only you can see them. To give your team access, share the dashboard with your organization. Everyone in the organization can then view it, but only managers or owners can edit it. To learn what each role can do, see Organizational Roles. Shared dashboards show a people icon on their card in the Dashboards list.

To share a dashboard:

  1. Do one of the following:

    • On the Dashboards page, click the ⋮ menu on the dashboard’s card and select Share.

    • While viewing the dashboard, click Settings (gear icon) and select Share.

  2. In the Share Dashboard window, confirm the Organization.

  3. Click Share.

To unshare a dashboard:

  1. Do one of the following:

    • On the Dashboards page, click the ⋮ menu on the dashboard’s card and select Unshare.

    • While viewing the dashboard, click Settings (gear icon) and select Unshare.

  2. In the following window, click Make Private.

Adding and arranging widgets

  1. Click + Add Widget in the top right of the dashboard.

  2. Choose a widget type.

  3. Select your devices. To set up a widget for many devices at once, enter a Tag instead of picking devices one by one.

  4. Choose the parameters and other settings, then click Create.

Once a widget is on the dashboard you can:

  • Resize: Click and drag the bottom-right corner.

  • Move: Click and drag from the center of the top edge.

  • Edit: Click the ⋮ menu on the widget and select Edit.

  • Delete: Click the ⋮ menu on the widget and select Delete.

Types of Widgets

Chart Widget

A line graph of the parameters you choose, each on its own axis. It’s the same chart as on the Monitoring page of your Devices.

Device Widget

A list of the parameters you choose, each with its current value and a live trend line. The footer shows the device’s network connection and how long ago it last reported.

Parameter Widget

Tracks one parameter across multiple devices. Useful when you’re monitoring a single parameter across a facility.

Map Widget

Shows the last reported GPS location of each selected device, with Map and Satellite views.

Distribution Widget

A histogram showing how a parameter’s readings were spread across the dashboard timeframe, with one row per device. Each bar shows the percentage of readings that fell within that value range. You can see at a glance whether a location usually sits low, runs high, or swings widely, which an average alone can’t tell you.

The interval in the widget title (for example, Distribution of AQ (15 min)) is how readings are averaged before they’re grouped. You choose it when you set up the widget.

Next to each device’s histogram, the widget shows its name, serial number, and summary statistics for the period:

  • Min / Avg / Max: The lowest, average, and highest readings.

  • P50: The median. Half of the readings were at or below this value.

  • P95 / P98: 95% (or 98%) of readings were at or below this value. These help you spot occasional peaks without letting a single outlier skew the picture.

If you set thresholds, dashed lines mark them on the chart, bars are colored by the range they fall in, and the widget shows the percentage of readings below each threshold (for example, AQ Less Than 75: 13%).

Wind Rose Widget

A polar chart showing the distribution of wind direction and speed for a selected device over the chosen time period. Each sector points in the compass direction the wind came from. Its length shows how often the wind blew from that direction, and the color-coded segments break those readings down by wind speed. This is the same wind rose as on the Monitoring page of your Devices. It requires a device that reports both wind speed and wind direction, such as a weather station.

Connectivity Widget

A timeline of each selected device’s connection status over the chosen time period. A solid bar means the device was online and reporting, and gaps mean it was offline. Use it to check at a glance that every device across a site is reporting as expected.
