When a shopper shares their try-on look, their friends discover your store and you can reward them for it with a discount code. It's one of the simplest ways to turn happy shoppers into new customers, with no ad budget required. Here's how to set it up and how to keep the discount safely under your control:
How it works
After a shopper tries on a product, they can share their look. When they do, they unlock a discount code for your store, a little thank-you that encourages the share and gives them a reason to come back and buy. Meanwhile, their friends see your product and brand, completely organically.
Step 1: Create your discount code in Shopify
First, create the discount code you'd like to give:
In your Shopify admin, go to Discounts → Create discount.
Set it up however you like; a percentage off, a fixed amount and so on.
Step 2: Set usage limits so it can't be abused
This is the important part. Because the code can be shared, you'll want to control how often it can be used and Shopify lets you do exactly that when you create the discount. Look for the usage limits options and choose what suits you:
Limit the total number of times the code can be used across your whole store.
Limit it to one use per customer, so each shopper can only redeem it once.
Setting one or both of these means the reward stays a genuine thank-you, not something that can be shared endlessly or over-used.
Step 3: Add the code to AI Frame
In your Shopify admin, go to Apps → AI Frame – Virtual Try-On, then open Styles & Settings.
Find the Sharing reward section.
Enter the exact discount code you just created.
Toggle the reward on and save.
Why it's worth turning on
Every shared look puts your store in front of new shoppers who already trust the person sharing it, that's word-of-mouth marketing you don't pay for. The discount gives shoppers a reason to share and a reason to return, so a single try-on can bring in several new visitors.
