A Size Chart answers “which size am I?” — a size recommendation answers it for them. When Size Recommender is on and a shopper has measurements (or an estimate from height and weight), AI Frame shows Your size on the product page and highlights the matching row.
What shoppers experience
On the product page they see Help us find your size above Add to cart. Estimate my size asks for a few details — no tape measure required:
Clothing: height, weight, gender; age is optional. AI Frame estimates chest, waist and hip from those inputs (never from the try-on photo).
Shoes: foot length.
Hats: head circumference.
Jewellery: wrist or finger, depending on the piece.
They can pick a fit preference (Fitted, Regular, Relaxed). Saving a Fit Profile is optional — they can leave Save my size estimate unticked and still see a size for this visit. From then on the card can read Your size: M (or the matching size), including on the size picker. The matching row is highlighted in the Size Chart.
They can also enter measurements under My Fit in the try-on widget. Edit measurements and Start over sit under the size badge, so they can change or clear their estimate without hunting in Privacy. Start over deletes the Fit Profile (measurements, photo, consent) and reopens the short estimate flow.
Saving is always the shopper's choice. The Fit Profile is stored securely, never shared with your store or used to train AI, and they can delete it at any time.
How to turn it on
In Shopify admin, go to Apps → AI Frame – Virtual Try-On, then open Size Chart.
Scroll to Size Recommender.
Switch on Size recommendations are enabled. You'll see a live preview in the setting.
Size recommendations only appear on products with a size chart assigned.
What it needs to work
Available on Starter, Growth and Advanced.
A published Size Chart must be assigned to the product.
Body-measurement charts (Tops (body), Bottoms (body), and so on) match shopper numbers to the table as-is.
Garment-measurement charts with bust, waist or hip columns also recommend: AI Frame converts each cell using Measured flat vs Measured around, How stretchy is the fabric? (0–20%), and How is this garment meant to fit? (Tight / Regular / Relaxed / Oversized), plus the shopper's Fitted / Regular / Relaxed preference. Same body + same numbers can still yield a different size on a stretch jersey vs a rigid slim shirt.
A Height Range column, when present, decides the size from height on its own — even on a garment chart that also lists chest or length.
On the result, shoppers can see a short explanation such as “We suggest M because your chest measurement sits mid-range for this size and this fabric has some stretch.”
What it costs
Size recommendations don't use any try-on credits.
Why it matters
Wrong-size orders are the biggest driver of fashion returns. A recommendation at the moment of decision — on the product page, not buried inside try-on — means more confident purchases.
