When a Product on Your Storefront Isn't Available

What travelers see when a Stay or Experience stops being bookable, and when to swap it out.

Airbnb's products change constantly — a host pauses a Stay for the season, an Experience stops running, a place comes off Airbnb entirely. Your storefront handles that for you, so a collection you built months ago doesn't quietly fill up with dead ends.

What travelers see

A product that isn't currently bookable stops appearing on your storefront — in its collection, in your collection counts, and in search results on your page. That's deliberate: better than sending someone to a product they can't book.

The same applies to content: if a post's only tagged product isn't available, the booking path out of that post goes with it.

What you see

You still see it. Logged in, the product stays in your collection with a label showing it's hidden from travelers until it's available again.

So you have a choice: leave it and let it come back on its own when the host reopens those dates, or take it out and put something else in its place. Nothing is lost either way.

You don't have to maintain this. There's no list to check and nothing to switch off — availability is read from Airbnb, and a product that reopens starts showing to travelers again automatically.

When it's worth a look

  • A collection has gone quiet — if several products in one collection are labeled hidden, the collection is thinner than travelers deserve. Add a couple of alternatives

  • A product you actively promote — if you've built a Story or a Highlight around one Stay, check it's still bookable before you push traffic at it again

  • Somewhere that's gone for good — if a place has come off Airbnb rather than closed its calendar, it won't come back. Replace it

Swapping one out

Remove the product from the collection and add a replacement with Quick Add or Inspire Me. Your collection link stays the same, so anything you've already shared keeps working.

Tip: When a place you loved comes off Airbnb, replace it with the nearest thing you'd genuinely recommend rather than leaving the gap. A collection of four strong stays beats a collection of six where two can't be booked.
