What is Candidate Match?
Candidate Match is a feature that automatically scans the Thrive talent pool and surfaces jobseekers whose skills and experience align with your published job posting, so you don't have to search for candidates manually. Matched candidates appear under the Candidate Match tab within that role's Pipeline.
Like Candidate Search, matched candidates are name-blind, their name and contact information stay hidden until they respond to an outreach message you've sent them. See If it's a name-blind database, how do I contact jobseekers from Candidate Match / Candidate Search? for more on how this works.
What do Prioritize, Interview, and Screen mean?
Each matched candidate is labeled with one of three tiers, giving you a quick sense of how closely their background lines up with what you're hiring for:
Prioritize – This candidate's experience is a strong match for nearly everything the role requires. There may be a few smaller details that aren't fully confirmed (like a specific tool, certain industry exposure, or a preferred credential), but their core experience covers the job well.
Interview – The candidate’s experience aligns well with the role, with most key requirements supported by their background. A few areas may benefit from further discussion during an interview.
Screen – The candidate shows alignment with the role, with key areas that need more information to determine overall fit. These can be explored through messaging the job seeker through Thrive’s Email Builder or asked during an interview.
What should I do when I'm interested or not interested in a candidate?
From the Candidate Match tab, each candidate gives you three options:
Contact Candidate – Reach out directly if you're interested, this opens the Email Builder so you can send a message right away.
Save to Pipeline – If you're interested but not ready to reach out yet, save the candidate to your Pipeline for later review.
Not a Fit – If the candidate isn't the right match for the role, select this to remove them from your Candidate Match list.
Does Candidate Match only run once?
No. As long as your job posting is published, Thrive scans the talent pool daily for potential matches and will notify you whenever new candidates are available to review.
Who receives Candidate Match notifications?
Notifications are only sent to the person who created the job posting.
What if I've exhausted my Candidate Match list?
As long as the job posting remains published, the system will continue scanning for newly added resumes and notify you when new matches come in. In the meantime, you can use Candidate Search to search the entire talent pool directly by skills, keywords, and location.
