If it's a name-blind database, how do I contact jobseekers from Candidate Match / Candidate Search?

How to contact name-blind candidates through Candidate Match and Candidate Search using the Email Builder.

Why is the platform name-blind? What does that mean?

Thrive protects jobseeker privacy by keeping candidate profiles anonymized when you're browsing through Candidate Match or Candidate Search. This means a candidate's name and contact information stay hidden until they either apply directly to your job posting, or respond to an outreach message you've sent them. This gives jobseekers control over who they share their identity with, while still allowing employers to review skills, experience, and qualifications to find the right fit.

How do I contact a jobseeker if I don't know their name or email?

You don't need their name or contact info to reach out. From Candidate Match or Candidate Search, select Contact (or Contact Candidate) on a candidate's profile. This opens the Email Builder, which lets you draft and send a message to the candidate without ever seeing their personal details. Once they reply, their name and contact information become visible to you, and you can continue the conversation from there.

How the Email Builder works with Pipelines

The Email Builder template will only populate when the jobseeker has been added to a Pipeline and that Pipeline has a job posting attached to it.

Tip: Make sure your job posting is published on Thrive so the jobseeker can also see it on the job board, this gives them the full context of the opportunity you're reaching out about.

Important: If you try to contact a jobseeker in a Pipeline that doesn't have a job posting attached, the Email Builder template will not populate.

What should I include in my Email Builder message?

A good outreach message should:

  • Introduce yourself and your company

  • Name the specific role you're reaching out about

  • Briefly explain why their background caught your attention

  • Invite them to reply if they're interested in learning more

Example:

Hello there,

I hope this message finds you well.

I'm reaching out with an exciting career opportunity for an Admin Assistant position with Acme Corporation. Your background and experience have caught our attention, and we believe you could be an excellent fit for our team.

If you're interested in discussing this opportunity further and learning more about the requirements, please reply to this email.

Best Regards,

Recruiter at Acme Corporation

Once you send your message, you can continue the conversation directly from your own email inbox, replies from the candidate will land there as well.
