This guide will walk you through how to set up exit intent triggers on your popups—whether you're working with a primary popup or a secondary one.
Unlike a primary popup that shows after a fixed delay to all new visitors, exit intent popups are triggered by visitor behavior—specifically when someone is about to leave your site. These popups are perfect for offering last-minute incentives to help reduce bounce and increase conversions.
Let’s dive in!
How Exit Intent Works (Mobile vs Desktop)
On desktop: Exit intent is triggered when a visitor moves their cursor toward the top of the browser (to close or switch tabs).
On mobile: Since there’s no mouse, it’s triggered when the user scrolls up quickly—indicating they're likely done browsing.
This guide covers how to set up both.

Step 2: Click on Trigger 1, then choose “When user scrolls up quickly” from the dropdown.

Step 4: Click Save in the top-right corner of the editor.
