Setting IP security up will reduce the risk of being hacked and also means that locked IPs due to incorrect password safety feature will be minimised - see below
There are 3 possible sections to use
Blocked IPs - If you see that there are suspicious IPs trying to access your account you can add to the blocked IP section.
Whitelisted - Here you should include main offices or remote employees with known fixed IPs this removes the possiblity of failed login security built into Alldevice activating. If the IP address isn't Whitelisted then after 10 wrong password attempts in a day the account will Lock. Everyone trying to access from the locked IP will see 403 error and an admin will need to remove the lock- read here
Allowed IPs will restrict access to only IPs added.
