Time tracking: clocking in and out

How staff clock in and out, still-working pings, manager approval, and un-approving a shift after the fact.

Time tracking records what was actually worked, as opposed to what was scheduled. ⏰

For staff

Clock in when you start and clock out when you finish. You can add a comment at either point — useful for noting a late start, a missed break or overtime, so your manager sees the reason alongside the times.

If you are still clocked in after a long stretch, All Gravy sends a still-working ping to check you have not forgotten to clock out. Forgotten clock-outs are the single most common cause of a wrong timesheet.

For managers

Clocked time needs approval before it counts. Review the recorded times against what was scheduled, adjust where needed, and approve.

If you approve something in error you can un-approve it and put it back. Approval is not a one-way door.

Why approval matters beyond payroll

On most accounts, approval is what releases an employee's earnings for early withdrawal. A shift sitting unapproved is a common reason someone tells you they cannot take money out. Approving it clears that.

Per-shift pay figures

Seeing pay amounts against individual shifts is gated separately, by Contract V2 shift pay. If you can see hours but not amounts, that is why.
