Customize Octo with Preferences—manage user, organization, app, and notification settings, configure billing, currency, and SSO to tailor your platform experience.

Octo’s Preferences allows you to customize your platform experience and help you configure your organizational settings that affect how your data is being displayed and processed across the platform.

📖 Preferences Categories:

  • User Setting: Personal customization options such as account details, connected accounts, and interface themes.

  • Organization Setting: Company-wide configurations including the fiscal year and currency setting.

  • App Setting: Application behavior preferences like language, region, and color theme.

  • Notification Setting: Alerts and channel management for receiving notifications.

  • Single Sign-ON (SSO): SAML SSO configuration for user authentication

Accessing Your Preferences

📝 In the dashboard, click the gear icon beside your profile to access the preferences menu.

User Settings

My Account

📖 This section displays your personal information and connected accounts. Available options include:

  • Name: View and edit your account name.

  • Connected Account: Manage accounts linked to Octo.

  • Avatar Customization: Personalize your profile picture.

  • Color Theme: Select your preferred interface color scheme.

Billing and Plans

💡Admin only: Visible only to users with admin privileges.

This section provides details about your Octo subscription and billing.

📖 Here’s what you need to know:

  • Pricing Model: Octo currently supports custom pricing. For changes and inquiries, contact sales@alphaus.cloud.

  • Trial Expiration Access: After your trial ends, Octo switches to expired mode with the following conditions:

    Available Features (Read-Only Access):

    • Access existing cost groups, reports, and alerts

    • View previously configured CSP accounts

    • Access historical data and configurations

    Restricted Features:

    • Creating new cost groups

    • Generating new reports

    • Adding new CSP accounts

    • Setting up new alerts

    • Adding new organization members

    • Optimization recommendations

    • Third-party application integration

    • Allocation features

  • Plan Information Display:

    • Current Plan Status: Active or expired

    • Expiration Date: Shows plan end date

    • Octo Credits: Displays remaining balance

Organization Settings

Fiscal Year Configuration

📖 Define your organization’s fiscal year, applied globally across all members.

  • Current Settings Display: Shows fiscal year start date and quarterly breakdown.

  • Quarterly Structure:

    • Q1: January 1 - March 31

    • Q2: April 1 - June 30

    • Q3: July 1 - September 30

    • Q4: October 1 - December 31

Currency Settings

💡Admin only: Only admin accounts can view and modify the Currency Settings.

Controls how monetary values appear in Octo reports.

📖 Here’s what:

  • Fixed Report Currency Switching: Currency changes apply only to Fixed Reports.

  • Exchange Rate Updates: Configure how often Octo retrieves updated rates.

  • Monthly Rate Refresh: System automatically refreshes rates on a specified day each month.

Application Settings

Application Color Theme

Customize Octo’s interface appearance. Options included:

  • System: Syncs with your device’s system theme.

  • Dark Mode: Optimized for low-light environments.

  • Light Mode: Traditional light theme.

Language and Region

📖 Configure localization to match language and region.

  • Language Selection: Choose your preferred display language.

  • Timezone: Choose your local timezone otherwise you can also set it automatically.

💡Note: All dates, times, and time-sensitive data are displayed according to your configured timezone.
