Verizon Connect - ELD/Telematics

Verizon Connect (formerly Fleetmatics) provides vehicle location and driver HOS.

Updated over 2 months ago

ℹ️ As of February 25, 2025, we've introduced two key updates to ELD integrations. First, we now validate credentials before saving, so you’ll instantly know if they’re incorrect, eliminating confusion. Second, the integration card UI has been revamped for clearer status indicators and a more streamlined deactivation process. These improvements aim to make managing integrations faster and more straightforward.

How it works

To begin setting up your integration with Verizon Connect, please make sure you have your subsidiaries setup first. Then, follow the instructions below to integrate with Verizon Connect.

Part 1: Create a Reveal Integration User

  1. The Reveal Integration User is created by following these steps in the Reveal Marketplace.

ℹ️ The Reveal Integration user credentials will be sent to the email address provided for the Developer Email and to the user who initiated the integration user request from the Verizon Connect Marketplace. You will use those credentials to activate the integration on the Alvys TMS.

Part 2: Activate Verizon Connect Integration within Alvys

  1. Once you have created the Reveal Integration User and have the credentials, you are ready to configure it within Alvys. Navigate to the Integrations page on Alvys

  2. In the Add Integration window, use the drop-down menu to find and select Verizon Connect.

  3. Next, enter the credentials for the Reveal Integration User in the username and password fields.

  4. Select which subsidiaries the Verizon Connect integration will be used for. If it will be used for all subsidiaries, select the checkbox for "All Subsidiaries".

  5. Click the blue Save button.

Part 3: Add the asset IDs to individual assets within Alvys

Before beginning part 3, you'll need to have your trucks and/or drivers set up in the Alvys system.

  1. Find the Assets option in the left-side menu, then select Trucks.

  2. From the list of assets, find and double click the particular asset you are ready to assign. This will open the Edit Asset page.

  3. On the asset page, scroll down to find the ELD Integrations section, then click the blue Add Integration button. Then, the Add Integration pop-up window will appear.

  4. In the Add Integration window, click the drop-down menu and select Verizon Connect.

  5. Next, enter the Vehicle Number from Verizon Connect into the Integration ID field in the Add Integration window.

💡 The Vehicle Numbers entered MUST match what’s listed on the Fleet Summart Report from the Verizon Connect Portal.

6. Click the blue Save button. Repeat steps 2 through 6 for the rest of your Verizon Connect trucks. After you've completed this step for applicable assets, then you're done! Great job!

Part 4: Add the Driver Number to individual drivers within Alvys

  1. Find the Assets option in the left-side menu, then select Drivers.

  2. From the list of drivers, find and double click the particular asset you are ready to assign. This will open the Edit Asset page.

  3. On the asset page, scroll down to find the ELD Providers section, then click the blue Add ELD button. Then, the Add Integration pop-up window will appear.

  4. In the Add Integration window, click the drop-down menu and select Verizon Connect.

  5. Next, enter the Driver Number from Verizon Connect into the Integration ID field in the Add Integration window.

💡 The Driver Numbers entered MUST match what’s listed on the ELD Drivers Report from the Verizon Portal.

6. Click the blue Save button. Repeat steps 2 through 6 for the rest of your Verizon Connect drivers. After you've completed this step for applicable assets, then you're done! Great job!
