指定商品・役務にはそれぞれ、数字とアルファベットの組み合わせからなる5桁の「類似群コード」というものが割り振られております。

この類似群コードに関しては、異なる指定商品・役務がそれぞれ別々の類似群コードを有していることもあれば、全く同一の類似群コードを有していることもあります。

仮に、1つの区分の中で複数の商品・役務を指定し、それぞれの商品・役務が有する類似群コードに重複があった場合、重複する類似群コードは、原則としてまとめて「1個」としてカウントされます。これは、第35類に属する小売等役務の類似群コードについても同様です。

【例】 類似群コードカウント方法

区分：第5類

指定商品1：「ガーゼ」 （類似群コード：01C01）

指定商品2：「眼帯」 （類似群コード：01C01）

指定商品3：「サプリメント」（類似群コード：32F15）

→第5類の合計類似群コード数：2個

（指定商品1と指定商品2の類似群コードが重複しているため。）

ただし、指定商品・役務の中には「その他の類似群コード」というものを有している場合もあります（「40H99」等、概ね「2桁の数字」、「1つのアルファベット」及び「99」の数字からなります）。

同一の「その他の類似群コード」を有する異なる指定商品・役務については、個別に指定商品・役務の類否が判断され、仮に類似しなかった場合は、それぞれの類似群コードが別々にカウントされることとなります。

また、類似群コードの数が多くなってしまった場合、出願が拒絶される可能性があります。

Each designated goods / services has a 5-digits "Similarity Group Code" consisting of a combination of numbers and an alphabet.

With regards "Similarity Group Code", different goods / services may have different Codes, or they may have the same Code.

If multiple goods / services are designated in one Class and there are duplicates in Codes of each goods / services, the duplicate Codes are counted as "1" in principle.

And the same applies to Codes for "Retail Services" in Class 35.

<e.g.> How to count "Similarity Group Codes"

Class: 5

Designated goods No.1: "gauze for dressings" (Code: 01C01)

Designated goods No.2: "eyepatches for medical purposes" (Code: 01C01)

Designated goods No.3: "dietary supplements for humans" (Code: 32F15)

Total number of Codes in Class 5: "2"

(Because the Codes of the designated goods No.1 and No.2 are duplicated.)

However, some designated goods / services have "Other Similarity Group Code" consisting of approximately "2-digits number", "an alphabet" and "99" (such as "40H99").

If different designated goods / services have the same "Other Similarity Group Code", the similarity of the goods / services is judged individually.

And if they are not similar, each "Other Similarity Group Code" is counted separately.

In addition, if the number of Codes becomes large, the application may be refused.
