Overview
Use folders to organize your PXM content. You can create two folder types—Category folders and Product folders—and place them anywhere in your folder tree. This article covers two ways to create folders and how to control visibility and region settings.
Option 1: Create a folder and manually choose its parent
Steps
Open the Folder Panel by clicking the "Folders" button at the top left corner of the page
Click "New Folder" found at the bottom of the Folder Panel. A new panel will open on the right side of your screen.
Select the folder type: Category folder or Product folder.
Enter the folder name.
Set Published:
On: All general users can see the folder.
Off: General users cannot see the folder (it remains hidden).
Choose desired Regions
Set the Parent folder:
Click Select Folder to apply.
The folder tree opens. Choose the folder where this new folder should live (it will highlight in blue).
Click Save in the selector to confirm the parent.
You’ll see the chosen parent folder tagged on the Create Folder panel.
Click Save to create the folder.
A confirmation appears that the folder was successfully created. Refresh the page if needed, then navigate to the parent folder to see the new folder.
Option 2: Create a subfolder directly from the folder tree (quicker)
When to use
Use this if you have already created the category folder that the new folder will live in.
Steps
In the left-hand folder structure, find the parent folder.
Click the three dots (more options) next to that folder.
Select Add a new subfolder.
In the panel that opens:
Choose Category folder or Product folder.
The parent folder is automatically tagged for you.
Enter the folder name, set Published, and choose Region(s).
Click Save. The new subfolder is created under the selected parent.
Notes and tips
Visibility: If Published is off, general users won’t see the folder.
Regions: Folders appear only in the region(s) you select.
Parent folder: If you don’t select a parent, the folder is created at the top level.
Don’t see your folder? Refresh the page and expand the parent folder again.
Permissions: If you don’t see the option to add folders or subfolders, contact your administrator.
