Before you can syndicate product data or export marketplace templates in PXM, you must first create a channel. Channels allow you to connect to external platforms such as Amazon, Walmart, Target, or other marketplaces.

This guide walks you through how to create both API channels and Custom channels in PXM.

Overview

Creating a channel enables you to:

  • Upload and manage marketplace templates

  • Connect to supported marketplace APIs

  • Begin product data syndication

Channels can be configured for:

  • API-connected marketplaces (e.g., Amazon, Walmart)

  • Non-API marketplaces (e.g., Chewy or other custom platforms)

How to Create a Channel

Step 1: Navigate to Channels

  1. In the left-hand sidebar, click Settings

  2. Select the Marketplaces tab

  3. Click the Channels sub-tab

Here, you will see a list of any existing channels.

Step 2: Create a New Channel

  1. Click Create Channel in the bottom-right corner

  2. Choose one of the following options:

    • API Channel

    • Custom Channel

Option 1: Create an API Channel

Use this option when connecting to a supported marketplace integration.

  1. Select API Channel

  2. Choose a marketplace from the available options (e.g., Amazon 1P US)

  3. Select a Default Media Stack (e.g., Gallery Content)

  4. Click Create

Once created, the channel will appear in your list.

Note: Newly created channels will show as Inactive until templates are uploaded or an API connection is configured.

Option 2: Create a Custom Channel

Use this option for marketplaces without a direct API integration.

  1. Select Custom Channel

  2. Enter a Channel Name (e.g., Fullscript)

  3. Choose a Default Media Stack

  4. Click Create

Your custom channel will now be available in the system.

What’s Next?

After creating your channel, you can:

  • Upload marketplace templates

  • Map product data to templates

  • Configure API connections (if applicable)

Tip: For API integrations, work with your Customer Success Manager to complete setup and authentication.
