Overview
Channel templates and marketplace templates let you map your PXM product data and media to the exact format a retailer or marketplace expects — so you can export or syndicate content without reformatting it manually each time.
Two types of templates exist in PXM:
API Templates (API Channels) — Templates automatically pulled from the marketplace (e.g., Amazon, Walmart, Target). PXM fetches and maintains these for you. You map your PXM attributes to the marketplace's required fields.
Custom Channel Templates — Templates you upload yourself, used for retailers without a direct API integration (e.g., Chewy, Fullscript, or any custom destination). You upload a spreadsheet, then map attributes to its columns.
Before you can work with templates, you need a channel. See Creating a Channel in PXM if you haven't done that yet.
Where to Find Templates
In the left-hand sidebar, click Syndicate, then select Templates.
Note: If you're looking for channel configuration (creating/editing channels), go to Settings → Marketplaces → Channels. The template editor and the channel settings are in separate locations.
Uploading a Custom Channel Template
This applies to Custom Channels (non-API marketplaces). If you're working with an API channel like Amazon or Walmart, skip to Mapping Attributes below — your templates are pulled automatically.
Upload the Template
In the left-hand sidebar, go to Syndicate
Select the Templates tab
Click the Spreadsheet Templates sub-tab
Click Add Spreadsheet Template in the bottom right corner
Select the Channel you created for your Marketplace
Enter the Template Name
Select the Org Units that should have access to this template
Upload your template
Select the Worksheet in the Template that the data will export to
Select your Header Row
Type in the number of the row where the data will begin
Mapping Attributes
Once your template is uploaded (or for API channels, once templates are loaded), you'll map your PXM attributes to the template's fields.
In Syndicate → Templates, find your template and click Edit on the right side of the template
From this screen you can adjust permissions by clicking on the settings button at the bottom right corner
Select MAP next to the field you want to map (far right side of each row)
Select Map Product Attribute then Multiple Attributes
Search for and select the PXM attribute you want to link to that field then click Apply
Repeat for each field you need to map
Click Save when finished
Mapping Media Stacks
Image stack mapping lets you specify which images (and in what order) get sent to a channel.
Follow steps 1–4 from Mapping Attributes above
Instead of "Map an Attribute," select Map an Image Stack Position
Specify the image size/output format required by the channel
Click Save
Using a Template to Export or Syndicate
Custom Channel Export
From the main product view, select the Product you want to export
Click Publish to Channel
Select the Channel and Channel Template
If the template has Media stack mappings, select the Media stack to export
Download the exported file — it's ready to submit to the retailer
API Channel Syndication
For API-connected channels, publishing sends data directly to the marketplace rather than downloading a file. Work with your CSM to ensure your API connection is configured before syndicating.
Troubleshooting
I can't find Channel Templates in Settings
Templates have moved. They're now under Syndicate → Templates in the left sidebar, not inside System Settings.
"No templates showing" for my channel
This usually means you haven't uploaded templates or pulled in API templates.
