Attribute Import Template

Amplifi offers a convenient attribute import template designed to simplify the process of creating attributes in bulk. This guide will walk you through the steps of using the attribute import template effectively.

For more information on Attributes, please refer here.

Understanding the Template:

The attribute import template consists of several columns, each serving a specific purpose:

  • Label: This column represents the name of the attribute. You can customize it according to your preferences, such as "Weight (lbs)", "MSRP", or "Brand Story".

  • Regions and Roles: These columns specify the regions and roles that have access to the attribute. Leaving them blank defaults to the system's default region and all roles, but you can customize them as needed.

  • Value Type: Choose the appropriate value type for the attribute from options like number, text, pick list, boolean, etc. Text is recommended for most cases due to its flexibility.

  • Options: If you select pick list as the value type, use this column to specify the options available for selection.

  • Attribute Group: Optionally, you can associate the attribute with a specific attribute group for better organization. For more information on Attribute Groups please refer to this article.

  • Locale: Go ahead and leave this blank.

Importing the Template:

  • Navigate to “Admin” > “System” > "Folder Settings" and find the “Attributes” tab.

  • Locate the "Import" option. Here, you can upload the downloaded CSV or Excel file containing your attribute data.

  • During the import process, you may need to correct any errors that appear in Amplifi. The system will show a little red stop sign next to anything that is flagged, and it will give you the option to correct it or delete the row.

  • Once the file is clean and ready to import, select the “Import” button on the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Amplifi will create the new attributes based on the data in your template.
