Standard Import Template
Amplifi offers a comprehensive standard import template designed to facilitate the efficient uploading of data into the system. This guide will provide an overview of the standard import template and how to utilize it effectively.
Who Should Use This Template?
The standard import template is primarily intended for administrators and super administrators who are responsible for managing data within Amplifi. While it may appear complex at first glance, this guide will walk you through each step to ensure a smooth import process.
Required Fields:
Collection Folder: This is the unique identifier for the collection folder, often referred to as a SKU. It helps organize data within Amplifi.
Import Type: Select the appropriate import type based on your needs. For most scenarios, the "create/edit" import type is recommended as it allows for the creation of new collection folders and the modification of existing ones without overwriting previous data.
Variant Attributes (Not Required):
Collection Type: “Parent” or “Child” are the options for variants.
Parent Collection: If “Child” was the option above, you would like the parent collection here. Leave this blank if this is the parent.
For additional information regarding Variants, please refer to THIS support article and video.
Additional Columns:
Additional Title: Provide a descriptive title for the product or item associated with the collection folder.
Roles: If unspecified, all roles will be selected.
Regions: If unspecified, only the default region will be selected.
Parent Category: Assign the collection folder to a specific category or subcategory within the system. There can be multiple parent categories if desired.
Published: Specify whether the collection folder is published or unpublished, this is a True or False question.
Filename-Based Folder Tagging: Determines if file name-based folder tagging should be enabled. This is True if files already exist and the collection folders do not.
Preserve HTML: Can leave blank, otherwise true or false.
Additional Search Tags: Add additional tags to enhance searchability.
Attribute Columns:
Amplifi allows for the inclusion of multiple attribute columns to capture specific product attributes.
Add the name of your attribute to the header row, and values in the associated column.
Ensure that the attributes listed in the template already exist within Amplifi to avoid any issues during import.
Import Process:
Download the completed Standard Import template as a CSV or an EXCEL file
Navigate to “Admin” > “System” > “System Settings” > “Import” > “New Data Import”, then select your file or drag and drop it into the designated area.
Confirm the layout and mapping of the information included. The header line will determine the auto-fill for mapping columns with attributes.
If everything looks good and there are no errors, select “Next” then “Import”
Depending on how much data is included in your import, it will take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes to import.
