You can use this page to add dependants under 16 who are registered at your GP practice and don’t have their own Anima account, usually children. If this applies please keep reading and continue to Step 1.
This page cannot be used for:
Anyone aged 16 or over — they need their own Anima account, or your GP practice must set things up for you
Care home residents — your GP practice must set up a care home account and link residents (see staff guidance here)
Someone who already has their own Anima account — they should log into that account instead
If you need to submit requests on behalf of an adult (e.g. an elderly relative) or you work at a care home, contact your GP practice — they can set this up for you. Guidance for GP staff doing this can be found here.
Log In
First, log into your Anima account. From your dashboard, click Settings
2. Selecting dependants and children
Click dependants and children
3. Add a new dependent
Click Add new dependent
4. Form completion
Complete the form (you may need to scroll to view the whole form) and click Add dependant and verify details:
Please note dependants must not already have an individual Anima account.
5. Verified
If the information you have entered matches the records we hold from your GP practice, your dependant will be automatically verified and added your account, where the account will appear as verified.
You can now submit requests on the dependant’s behalf when starting a new request.
6. Could not be verified
If you receive a message saying your dependant could not be verified, don't worry, your practice will have been informed and will manually verify your dependant's account.
You do not need to contact your practice in this case.
Your dependant will appear as pending in the list until your practice verifies the account - you can click the pencil logo to edit the details if you made a mistake, or delete the dependant entirely.
You will receive an email notification when manual verification is completed.
Please note you will not be able to submit requests on behalf of this dependant’s behalf until their verification is complete.
