Learn how to efficiently edit data preparation sessions in the Synthace platform to refine your experimental workflows. This guide walks you through entering edit mode, modifying transformations, and updating statistical calculations like standard deviation.
To begin editing a read-only session, click “Restore to Edit.” This unlocks the data preparation workflow, allowing you to make targeted changes—such as excluding specific replicates from calculations—without having to rebuild your session from scratch.
When modifying transformations, it’s essential to consider the downstream impact. If a transformation is used in subsequent steps, editing it will remove any dependent transformations (e.g., those calculating standard deviation). The platform provides warnings before such changes take effect to help you make informed decisions.
You can also update statistical calculations after editing transformations. For example, exclude a replicate from standard deviation analysis and then recreate any required downstream steps.
Editing data preparation sessions and transformations
Open the session you want to edit (read-only sessions will be locked by default).
Click “Restore to Edit” to unlock the session for editing.
Edit transformations
Modify data transformations as needed (e.g., exclude replicates or adjust calculations).
If a transformation is used downstream:
The platform will warn you before removing dependent steps.
Confirm changes to proceed (transformations downstream of the edited step will be deleted).
Recreate any removed downstream steps, if necessary (e.g., recalculate standard deviation).
