How to update SynthaceHub

SynthaceHub runs in the background of the computers in your lab, not in the cloud. This means that when we improve SynthaceHub, we must release a new version.

The SynthaceHub updates are not installed automatically, you will be made aware of a pending update and have control over when they are installed.

Available updates for SynthaceHub are automatically displayed on the SynthaceHub homescreen. The blue banner highlighting that Updates for SynthaceHub are available makes you aware that you can update SynthaceHub when ready to do so.

If you are ready to install the update for SynthaceHub, use the GO TO UPDATES button to go to the Software Updates page.

Note: an update is also indicated by a red dot next to the profile icon in the top right of the SynthaceHub homepage, clicking on this will allow you to go to the Software Updates page.

If you are not ready to update SynthaceHub, use the REMIND ME LATER button to defer the installation. You can select either Remind me tomorrow or Remind me next week. Upon making your selection, the blue banner update notification will be removed from the SynthaceHub homepage and will reappear at the end of the reminder period. The REMIND ME LATER function will apply for a total of two weeks, after which there will persist an orange banner highlighting the required SynthaceHub update.

Update SynthaceHub

The Software Update page displays the available updates for the SynthaceHub (it will also include any updates available for Device Plugin versions for each device). Click on Update to install the updated version of SynthaceHub.

Note: you can additionally review what is included in the update by clicking on Release notes. The Update history button allows you to review a previously installed version of SynthaceHub, allowing you to also roll back to this previous version (roll back functionality available for 90 days after updating to a new version).

You will prompted to restart SynthaceHub to finalise the installation of the update. Click YES, UPDATE SYNTHACEHUB to proceed with the installation.

Note: SynthaceHub cannot be installed whilst a Synthace execution is running. Wait for the execution to finish before installing the SynthacHub update.

The Installation update page will appear to confirm that the installation of the SynthaceHub update is in progress.

Upon completion of the SynthaceHub update a new browser tab will appear asking you to log in to SynthaceHub, log in to open the newly updated version of SynthaceHub.

If an issue is encountered during installation of the SynthaceHub update the Installation update page will notify you to use Synthace to talk to us.
