Updated over 8 months ago

The articles in this section explain how to add scientific context to your workflows.

Get started

  1. Read the introduction to this series of tutorials, then complete all of the previous tutorials in the series. For more information, click here.

  2. Create a new workflow in the Builder (for more information, click here), or open a workflow that you have already built.

Example: In the following image, we have a simple aliquot workflow.

Create a group of elements by dragging

  1. Click the Create Element Group icon in the left-hand toolbar.

  2. Click and drag a box around the elements that you want to group together.

Note: As you drag the box, Synthace highlights the elements that it will include in the group. The group will auto-size to fit around the elements that belong to that group.

Create a group of elements with keyboard shortcuts

  1. Select the elements you want to add to a group by either clicking and cmd/ctrl+dragging around the elements, or by cmd/ctrl+clicking each element one at a time.

  2. Use the keyboard shortcut cmd+g (mac)/ctrl+g (PC) to automatically create a group around the selected elements.

Continue to Tutorial 1.3 to learn how to add titles and descriptions to element groups.
