Collecting chromatography fractions in deep or shallow well plates on the Tecan FLUENT®

This article teaches you how to set up Synthace configurations for fraction collection in either microplates or deep well plates.

Updated over a year ago

If you wish to switch between collecting robocolumns fractions in microplates or deep well plates, you must create a separate configuration for each setup.

Collecting in deep well plates

To collect properly in deep well plates, ensure your TeChrom® is raised to the appropriate height and ensure that no spacer is present on the TeChrom® Shuttle Transport.

Save the worktable in Fluent Control and generate a configuration file for Synthace. For more details on how to set up your FLUENT®, click (Miniaturized purification: Tecan FLUENT® Configuration ). For more details on how to generate a configuration file for Synthace, click (how to generate a Fluent configuration for Synthace).

Collecting in shallow well plates

To properly collect in shallow well or microplates, create a copy of the worktable in Fluent Control used to create the deep well plate configuration. Add a Spacer to the TeChrom Shuttle Transport, rename the worktable and save the changes.

Tip: To easily distinguish between the two configurations, we recommend including “shallow well” in the worktable name.

Synthace will take into account the geometries of the spacer when running executions.

Generate a configuration file for Synthace. For more details on how to set up your FLUENT®, click (Miniaturized purification: Tecan FLUENT® Configuration ). For more details on how to generate a configuration file for Synthace, click (how to generate a Fluent configuration for Synthace).

In Synthace, you can select the proper layout you are using in the Workflow Settings based on your preference.
