Navigating the simulation preview for multi-mode execution workflows

Learn how to use the simulation preview for multi-mode execution workflows.

Updated over 11 months ago

The simulation page allows you to preview your workflow across all stages and devices. To learn more about how to build a multi-mode execution workflow, click here. Continue reading to learn more about the details of each preview tab.

Resources

Once you are finished building your workflow, simulate it and view the simulation.

The simulation will open on the Resources tab which gives you an overview of all of the devices, labware and starting reagent volumes that are needed to complete the entire workflow. Synthace generates plate and reagent CSV files that you can download and import into an ELN.

Setup

In the setup tab, you can view the state of all the labware used in your multi-mode execution workflow. Toggle through each stage to view the represented changes after each stage is completed.

Instructions

The instructions tab provides plate-map based information for each stage in the workflow. This view is particularly helpful for stages that are manually executed with a pipette.

Additionally, you can save these instructions as a PDF or print them out by clicking on the printer icon in the lower right hand corner of your screen.

Preview

The preview tab allows you to visualize and view all liquid handling. Use the arrows on your keyboard or drag the timeline slider preview each step in the entire workflow.

To quickly navigate to the next stage, click on the stage marker on the timeline slider. Labware used across multiple stages transfers to the next stage as the previous one is completed. When hovering over each number, you can quickly view the device used to execute that specific stage.

Once the workflow is behaving to your liking, click on Start Execution to begin executing the workflow. To learn more about executing a multi-mode execution workflow, click here.
