Answer

If your file fails to upload or process in Mobilize, the most common causes are file size, file structure, or document readability. Mobilize works best with clean, readable source files that can be processed into workflow questions.

Steps

  1. Confirm the file type is supported, such as PDF, Word, or a simple Excel file.

  2. Check the file size.

  3. If the file is large, reduce the size or split it into smaller sections.

  4. If using Excel:

    • avoid multi-sheet files

    • move content to a single sheet if possible

    • if needed, print the file to PDF

  5. If using a scanned PDF, make sure the text is selectable.

  6. Remove unnecessary images, graphics, or appendices.

  7. Re-upload the simplified file in Mobilize.

  8. Wait for processing to complete before selecting Mobilize.

Helpful tip: reduce PDF size by re-printing

If the PDF is too large:

  1. Open the PDF.

  2. Select Print.

  3. Choose Print to PDF.

  4. If formatting allows, print multiple pages per sheet.

  5. Save the new PDF.

  6. Upload the smaller version into Mobilize.

Additional guidance

  • For very large procedures, split the file into logical sections before uploading.

  • Keep formatting clean and avoid heavily nested tables or overly complex formatting.

  • If repeated upload failures continue, contact your Benchmark Gensuite team for support.
