Why Isn’t Mobilize Creating Questions from My Uploaded File?

Written by Lauren Baird
Updated over a week ago

If Mobilize is not generating questions from your uploaded document, it is usually because you entered text into the chat prompt. When chat text is present, Mobilize switches to Chat + Document mode, and the AI may not strictly convert your file into structured questions.

To generate questions directly from your document, you must use the Document-Only method.

Answer

Use Document-Only mode by uploading your file and clicking Mobilize immediately, without entering anything into the chat prompt. This ensures Mobilize builds the workflow strictly from the uploaded document.

Steps

  1. Log in to ANVL Insights.

  2. Navigate to MobilizeAI

  1. Select Upload File.

  2. Choose your document (SOP, checklist, standard, etc.).

  3. Wait for the file to finish processing.

  4. Do not type anything into the chat field.

    1. The chat area should be blank.

    2. You should see example prompt tiles in the left pane.

  5. Click Mobilize immediately.

  6. Enter a workflow Draft name. Click Create.

  7. Wait for processing to complete.

  8. Click Take me there to open the Draft.

The workflow will appear under Drafts.

Important Rules for Document-Only Mode

  • Upload the document only.

  • Do not enter instructions in chat.

  • Do not ask questions about the document in chat.

  • Click Mobilize immediately after upload.

If chat text is present, the AI may reinterpret your document instead of converting it directly into workflow questions. After Mobilize Creates the Draft

Always:

  • Review and refine question wording

  • Adjust question types

  • Confirm workflow sections (categories)

  • Review routing and logic

Then:

  1. Publish to a Demonstration / UAT Group.

  2. Test end-to-end behavior.

  3. Publish to Production Groups after validation.

Common Issues & Tips

Document Upload Errors

  • Large files may fail.

  • Avoid multi-sheet Excel (XLSX) files.

  • Split large documents if needed.

Complex or Branching Workflows

  • Avoid combining unrelated branches in one workflow.

  • Create separate workflows or copy a core workflow for variations.

  • This improves long-term maintainability.
