How Do I Change a User’s Language Setting in ANVL Manager?

Learn how to update the system language for a user in ANVL Manager and understand what the language setting does and does not affect.

Change the system language used for menus, buttons, and platform text for a specific user. The language setting affects system-level text only and does not translate workflows or workflow questions. The user must already exist, and you must have access to the Users tab in ANVL Manager.


Answer

Site-Level Admins can update a user’s language setting from the Users tab in ANVL Manager. The change updates platform menus and system text after the user logs out and logs back in.


Steps

  1. Log in to ANVL Manager at https://insights.anvl.com.

  2. Go to the Users tab.

  3. Select the checkbox next to the user you want to update.

  4. Click ModifyModify User.

  5. In the Language section, select the desired language.

  6. Click Update in the upper-right corner to save changes.


Helpful Notes

  • Mobile app: The device language (phone or tablet) must also be set to the same language for menus to display correctly.

  • Workflows: JSAs, JHAs, Job Safety Briefings, Inspections, and other workflows are not translated by this setting.

  • Workflow translations: Contact your ANVL Customer Success Manager for workflow translation options.

  • Data exports: Excel may not support special-character languages (e.g., Chinese, Japanese).

    • Mac: Use Numbers

    • Windows: Use Notepad++


Additional Language Support

ANVL includes several languages out of the box.
If you need an additional language, contact your account representative by submitting a Help Desk ticket or using Help Me (for subscribers who use other Benchmark Gensuite applications in addition to ANVL).
