💼 Quote Groups and Category Linking

Roof Wizard’s newer versions include advanced pricing and job management capabilities, with optional integration to external accounting systems.

To support these workflows, each product record now includes a Category field that allows materials to be grouped logically into Quote Groups such as:

  • Shake Supply

  • Shake Installation

  • Accessories

  • Labour

This flexibility helps structure estimates, reports, and exported accounting data more efficiently.

📄 Linking PDF Documents

You can attach external PDF documents — such as product specifications or technical data sheets — to each shake or accessory.
This enables complete, professional documentation sets to accompany your estimates.

All linked PDFs are recorded in a file named:

PDFS.CSV

This file includes:

  • The Product Code

  • The Filename/Path of the associated PDF

Example:

SHK001, WesternRedCedar_ShakeSpecs.pdf

If a Drawing Report of type PDFReport is configured under Drawings, Roof Wizard can automatically compile and print all linked PDFs to create a unified documentation package for your quote.

✅ Summary

Defining shakes and their accessories in this dialog enables Roof Wizard to:

  • Automatically calculate material quantities and bundle counts

  • Maintain accurate pricing and supplier links

  • Group materials for improved reporting and accounting integration

  • Attach manufacturer PDFs directly to your quotes

💡 Always ensure each shake has a unique product code — this ensures proper linking between your materials, accessories, and cost reports.
