Apploi now offers the ability to sign in using Single Sign-On (SSO) with Google or Microsoft for both Apploi Hire and Apploi Schedule.
SSO lets you log in with the Google or Microsoft account you already use at work, instead of entering a separate username and password.
It helps streamline access to your account while benefiting from the security your organization already has in place. This article explains how SSO works and how to use it when logging in to Apploi.
What is Single Sign-On?
Single Sign-On (SSO) is an authentication method that lets you log in to Apploi using your existing Google or Microsoft credentials. Instead of managing a separate Apploi password, you can click Sign in with Google or Sign in with Microsoft on the login page and be taken straight into the application.
Benefits of Using SSO
SSO offers several advantages over traditional username and password login:
Convenience — Sign in with one click using the account you’re already logged into. No need to create or remember a separate Apploi password.
Stronger security — SSO leverages the security policies your organization already has in place, including multi-factor authentication (MFA) enforced by Google Workspace or Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD). Your Apploi account benefits from the same protections as your email and other workplace tools.
Fewer password resets — Because you’re using credentials you already know, you’re far less likely to get locked out or need to reset your password.
Centralized access management — Your IT team can manage access to Apploi alongside your other workplace applications, making onboarding and offboarding simpler and more secure.
Important Things to Know
SSO authenticates existing users. Your Apploi account must already be set up and configured before you can use SSO to sign in. SSO does not create new user accounts. New user setup and configuration is still required before SSO can be used.
Username and password login still works. Even after you sign in with Google or Microsoft SSO, you can still log in with your Apploi username and password at any time. SSO is an additional sign-in option, not a replacement.
SSO works with both Apploi Hire and Apploi Schedule. The same Google or Microsoft sign-in option is available on the login page for both products.
How to Sign In with Google SSO
Navigate to the Apploi login page (for either Apploi Hire or Apploi Schedule).
Click Sign in with Google.
Select the Google account you’d like to use. Google will show you what information Apploi will be able to access — your name, profile picture, and email address.
Click Continue to complete sign-in.
That’s it — you’ll be taken directly into Apploi.
How to Sign In with Microsoft SSO
Navigate to the Apploi login page (for either Hire or Schedule).
Click Sign in with Microsoft.
Sign in with your Microsoft work account if prompted.
Microsoft Admin Approval
Depending on your organization’s settings, you may see an “Approval required” screen the first time you attempt to sign in with Microsoft. This means your Microsoft administrator needs to approve the Apploi SSO application before you can use it.
If you see this screen:
Enter a justification for why you need access (e.g., “Required for logging into Apploi for work”).
Click Request approval.
Your Microsoft administrator will receive your request and can approve it from the Microsoft Entra admin center.
Once approved, you’ll be able to sign in with Microsoft SSO going forward.
If you’re not sure who your Microsoft administrator is, reach out to your IT department for help.
