Explaining Appstle Tags

  • Every single customer that purchases a subscription product is immediately tagged by Appstle and any associated purchases are tagged as well.

  • By default, we've created labels for each tag that clearly explain their meaning, but you can customize the tags as you please.

  • You can even add Dynamic Variables to your tags, such as Subscription Contract ID, First Order ID, and more!

Order Tagging Settings

  • First-Time Order Tag: this tag is added to the first order created by your customer after purchase.

  • Recurring Order Tag: this tag is added to every recurring order after your customer's first purchase.

Customer Tagging Settings

  • Customer Active Subscription Tag: this tag is added to all of your currently active subscribers and is reflected in their customer accounts.

  • Customer Cancelled Subscription Tag: This tag is added to all canceled subscribers and is reflected in their customer account.

  • Customer Paused Subscription Tag: This tag is added to all currently paused subscribers and is reflected in their customer accounts.

Using Tags to Email Specific Customers

Creating a User Segment in Klaviyo

  1. Log into the Klaviyo account that is tied to your store and click Audience then Lists & Segments.

  2. Click Create New and select Create Segment.

  3. Give your segment a name - in the example below we've chosen Active Subscribers since we'll be segmenting by our active subscribers tag.

  4. In the Tags section, select the active subscriber's tag. We're using Appstle's default tag for active subscribers, so you might see different options if you've changed the tag in your tag settings.

  5. In Definition, select properties about someone, then contains, then type in your tag name (this will be identical to the text you see in the selected Tags field).

  6. Make sure to select List from the Type dropdowns.

  7. Finally, click Create Segment and you're done!

With these steps completed, you now have the power to segment your entire customer base based on their unique subscription status, subscription plan ID, Customer ID, and much more!
