How to set up installment payment plans

Installment Payment Plans

Updated over a week ago

Want to offer your customers the ability to pay for their products with a series of installments? Keep reading below to find out how you can do just that with Appstle Subscriptions.

First navigate to our Subscription Plans section on the left side of your screen. Then click Create Subscription Plan.

Next you'll want to give your plan a name. This won't be seen by the customer and is only used to help you organize your subscriptions.

Now it's time to set up the actual payment configuration. Billing type should be set to Pay As You Go (Auto-renew). Order frequency is where you get to decide the frequency of your customer's installments. In this example we'll be using a monthly configuration.

Now for the Frequency name, this is what will actually be seen by your customer. If you want to provide more information you can toggle Show Description and write your own description.

If you want to bill your customers on a specific day of the month Charge on specific days is where you set that up (by default they will be charged on the same day of the month that they placed their original order).

Automatic Discount Modification is where you'll want to set the discount to align with the payment plan you're creating. In this example since we're creating a plan which follows 4 installments, we'll want the discount to be set to 75% of the total price of the product - so the customer will be paying 25% of the products total value, 4 times.

This next section is where you'll set up the most important settings, which will ensure that your customer is billed correctly. First you'll want to click on View advanced settings, which will bring up the screen below. Then you need to enable both Cancellation Policy and Automatic expiration - additionally setting both values to the exact number of payment installments.

All that's left to do now is add the products to this subscription plan, which you want to offer the installment payment plans, and you're done!
