What are the most common fixes or service issues?
Typical issues include filter replacements, proper installation allowing for efficient air inflow, and occasional pump or sensor servicing.
What happens if the machine is exposed to extended periods of cold weather?
Winterizing procedures must be followed in climates with sustained sub-freezing conditions. Most importantly, no water should remain in the unit during extended periods of cold weather due to the expansion of water from it’s liquid to solid state which may comprise internal systems.
What maintenance is required throughout the product’s lifespan?
Routine tasks include filter changes, cleaning the external water storage tank, periodic cleaning of coils/air filters, and occasional checks on pumps, fans, and electrical connections.
At what temperature should the system be winterized, and how do I know when to resume operation?
Winterization is recommended when ambient temperatures drop below freezing (32°F / 0°C). Resume normal operation once ambient temperatures remain consistently above freezing and any risk of ice formation is gone.
How simple is it to change the unit’s filters?
Filter changes require less than 2 minutes for the Hydropixel and 10 minutes for the Hydropack series. A simple twist on and off for the 4 water cartridges and replacement of the air filter are as simple as any maintenance for a fridge
If a customer requires maintenance overseas, who can service the machine?

Are there risks of internal damage if the unit loses power in freezing conditions, and who is liable for repairs?
If the unit is not winterized and temperatures drop below freezing, components will be at risk. Damage from improper winterization will fall outside warranty coverage.
Do Hydropack and Hydropixel units share the same error codes?
While there is overlap in some error codes, certain codes are model-specific. Refer to your model-specific manual for accurate troubleshooting information.
Can the machine remain off for a year or longer and resume normal operation immediately?
If your machine has been off for one year, it is recommended to follow these steps:
Turn on and let unit run for 24 hours
After 24 hours, drain tank
Clean tank

What should international customers do about differing outlet types and voltages?
Hydropixel: These units are designed with a C13 (kettle-style) power inlet and are compatible with Type A and B (110–120V) outlets. If you live in a country using Type C–G outlets—often running at 240V—a step-up converter may be required.
Hydropack: Aquaria’s in-stock units operate at 240V single-phase. Please consult a certified electrician to determine what’s needed to ensure the Hydropack is compatible with your electrical system.
Is winterization needed for only the external water outlet, or the entire piping system?
We recommend winterizing all external piping, the outlet, and any attached hoses or pumps to prevent freezing and damage.
Should the external pump operate continuously (like a pool pump) during freezing conditions?
There will be no water to pump externally due to the subfreezing temperatures.
How can the machine be protected in areas prone to hurricanes or severe storms?
When severe weather is expected, secure or shelter your Hydropack unit to protect it from flying debris and potential floodwaters. The Hydropack series is rated for IPX3 waterproof standards; however, in hurricane conditions, it is recommended to brace the unit to the concrete foundation and cover it with a tarp. As an extra precaution, disconnect the unit from its power source and bring the plug indoors to protect it from water damage.
How does the maintenance process work if the unit is outside the Austin/Dallas area, especially if proprietary technology is involved under warranty?
