  1. What is the recommended Wi-Fi range for a Hydropack?

    1. The effective Wi-Fi range depends on your router’s signal strength. If you experience connectivity issues, using a Wi-Fi extender—readily available online for around $80—can help ensure a stable connection.

  2. Does the Hydropack store operational data locally?

    1. The Hydropack stores the most recent 50 days of data before deleting.

  3. Should a Hydropack be connected to an external storage tank?

    1. Yes. A Hydropack should be combined with an external storage tank to maximize efficient water production during optimal conditions, assure water availability in dry times, and meet higher usage demands when they surge.

  4. Can a Hydropack tie into an existing solar energy system?

    1. If your home already runs on a grid-tied solar energy system, the machine simply plugs into the household’s electrical circuit. In effect, it will be powered by your solar system.

    2. If your home’s solar energy system is not tied to the grid, schedule a call with an Aquaria sales rep so we can assess how your system and ours will tie together.

  5. Can the machine run on DC power if the home is fully solar-powered?

    1. The machines require standard 220 V - 240V single phase AC power input. However, if your solar setup provides AC power through an inverter (common in many residential solar installations), the unit will run off that solar source.

  6. Are minerals added to the Hydropack or Hydropixel to improve the taste of the water?

    1. Aquaria does not mineralize the Hydropack series. Minerals can be added using an inexpensive inline mineral cartridge or an equivalent system at the tap.

    2. Our Hydropixel includes a mineral cartridge as it is an all-in-one drinking water solution.

  7. Is it possible to connect a Hydropixel to an external tank?

    1. The Hydropixel is not designed for external tank integration. Any modifications to enable external storage would void the warranty.

  8. How complex is it to integrate the unit with existing home water lines?

    1. It is easy to integrate an Aquaria’s Hydropack into an existing home water line. The water from the Hydropack can be stockpiled in an external water storage tank and connected to the home through a solenoid T-value to provide water service to your home and maintain access to an additional water source.

  9. During freezing temperatures or when the external pump is switched off for an extended period (such as during extended travel), what happens to the water in the internal tank?

    1. If the water in the internal tank is exposed to sub-freezing temperatures for an extended period of time, the water will turn from it’s liquid to solid state. To safeguard your tank, it is highly recommended to drain your tank to a maximum of 75% to account for the fact that water expands by 9% when changing from liquid water to ice.

    2. You should drain all liquid from the Hydropack before leaving for an extended period or when anticipating a freeze event.

  10. What is the recommended tolerance for proximity to walls or other objects for both the machine and its intake vents?

    1. It is recommended to maintain at least 10 feet (3 meters) of clearance on the left and right sides and top of the unit, ensuring the intake fans are unobstructed by walls or large objects. Proper airflow is essential—both the intake and exhaust vents must remain unobstructed. To optimize water generation, the exhaust air should be directed away from the intake to prevent recirculation.

  11. When does the internal pump initiate water output?

    1. When the internal sensor determines the water tank level is high, the pump will automatically activate if pump mode is on.

  12. If the machine is off and drained, how can I tell when it is ready for use again once it is turned back on?

    1. Please follow the winterization guide on how to restart the machine and ensure clean filters for proper water production.

  13. Should the drip tray outlet be plumbed into the main tank as well?

    1. No. The unfiltered water outlet is just to empty the internal tank of the Hydropack unit such as when preparing the unit for winterization.

  14. How thick should the concrete pad be for installing a Hydropack?

    1. The concrete pad must be at least 4 inches thick and reinforced with rebar. For the Hydropack X, a minimum thickness of 6 inches is recommended to support its weight and prevent settling.
