E1: How to Diagnose and Replace a Temperature and Humidity Sensor in Your Hydropixel

Is your Hydropixel showing an E1 error or experiencing inconsistent temperature and humidity readings? This guide will walk you through diagnosing and replacing the temperature and humidity sensor.

Diagnosing the Issue:

  • Check the analog display for an E1 error

  • Observe external conditions for temperature and humidity inconsistencies

Tools Needed:

  • Number one Phillips head screwdriver

  • Small flat head screwdriver

  • Replacement temperature and humidity sensor

Replacement Steps:

  1. Remove the top back panel of the Hydropixel

  2. Locate the rectangular sensor casing on the upper right side

  3. Remove the screw holding the casing

  4. Carefully pry off the casing using a flat head screwdriver

  5. Remove the screw holding the microchip

  6. Gently disconnect the microchip from cables

  7. Insert the new sensor, ensuring a tight connection

  8. Reassemble in reverse order:

    • Screw microchip back into bottom casing

    • Replace top casing

    • Secure with screws using low torque

Pro Tip: When using a screwdriver, apply minimal pressure to avoid damaging the casing.


E2: NTC sensor failure at the lower front of the machine

Contact the Aquaria support team immediately.


E3: Dispenser Pump Failure

An E3 error on your Hydropixel indicates a dispenser pump failure. While this error is rare, it requires attention before continuing use of the machine. If you encounter an E3 error:

  1. Recognize the E3 Error

    • This signals a specific issue with the dispenser pump functionality

  2. Take Immediate Action

    • Do not attempt to resolve the error independently

    • Contact the Aquaria support team directly


E4: Bottom Tank Water Level Sensor

The E4 error indicates a failure of the water level sensor in the bottom water tank of your Hydropixel.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Inspect the Water Level Sensor

    • Remove the bottom panel on the back of the Hydropixel

    • Locate the large square-shaped object and the nut and bolt with six wires

    • Follow the wires up about four inches

    • Ensure all wires are securely held in place by zip ties

  2. Power Check

    • Turn on the Hydropixel

    • Check if the E4 error is resolved

  3. Motherboard Connection Inspection

    • Open the left-side service panel

    • Locate the motherboard on the top far left

    • Find the yellow connection with black, blue, white, and yellow cables

    • Ensure all connections are securely pressed in

If these steps do not resolve the E4 error, contact Aquaria support for further assistance in obtaining and replacing the water level sensor.


E5: Top water tank level sensor failure

Is your Hydropixel displaying an E5 error? This indicates a problem with the top water tank's level sensor. Here's a step-by-step guide to diagnose and potentially resolve the problem:

What You'll Need:

  • #1 Phillips head screwdriver

  • Patience

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Remove the Back Panel

    • Locate two screws on the top back of your Hydropixel

    • Carefully remove these screws

    • Gently take off the top panel

  2. Inspect the Water Level Sensor

    • Look for a white square in the middle of the exposed area

    • Locate the water level sensor with six wires (two black, two white, two yellow)

    • Check that all wire connections are firmly secured

  3. Motherboard Connection Check

    • Open the side panel of your Hydropixel

    • Find the motherboard/CPU board

    • Locate the red connection on the top right side

    • Verify the connection with yellow, white, blue, and black wires is secure

If after these steps the E5 error Persists, please contact Aquaria support for further assistance.


E7: NTC sensor failure in the top water tank

Contact the Aquaria support team immediately.


E8: Refrigerant Leak

When a refrigeration system shows signs of a potential refrigerant leak, it's crucial to resolve the issue in order for your machine to operate properly. Read the following steps for instructions on what to do if your machine has an E8 error.

Key Steps:

  1. Identify the error on the display.

  2. Contact Aquaria Support Do not attempt to repair the leak independently. Immediately turn off the machine and reach out to Aquaria support.

Safety Reminder: Refrigerant leaks can be complex and potentially hazardous. Always prioritize professional assessment and guidance to ensure proper resolution and system integrity.


E9: NTC sensor failure at the top front of the machine
