Project templates

Create a useful starting point for team projects

Written by Mike Buss

Projects templates provide a helpful starting point for members of your team. Templates are a team/paid feature, and templates can only be published/unpublished by admins. You can learn more about teams and permissions here.

Project templates include:

Creating a template

There are 2 ways to create a project template: Publish and Clone.

Both options are found in the context menu that is shown when right clicking on a project card in the project browser. Any team project can be made into a template (note that draft projects cannot be made into templates)

Publish: This will convert the project into a template.

Clone: This will make a copy of the project that is a template.

Template projects show a "Template" badge on their project card.

Using a template

To use a template, select "From template" in the Create button dropdown and select the template you want to use to create the new project. If only 1 template exists it will be selected automatically.

Unpublishing a template

Templates can be unpublished by right clicking on the project card and selecting "Unpublish template" in the context menu.

Unpublished templates will no longer show in the templates menu when creating a new project. Note that unpublishing a template will not affect any existing projects that were creating using the template.
