Why isn't my login code working?

Learn how to fix an expired, missing, or rejected login code and sign back in to Arist with a fresh code in under a minute.

Platform access level: This guide is for everyone who signs in to the Arist platform at arist.app, whatever your role. Learners do not need to sign in to receive lessons, because lessons arrive in the tools they already use.

Arist signs you in with a one-time login code. You enter your email address on the login page, Arist emails you a 6-digit code, and entering that code signs you in. Codes expire 10 minutes after they are sent, which is why a fresh code is almost always the fastest fix. Work through the sections in order, from the most likely cause to the least.

If the login page itself will not load, Why am I seeing a page error? covers that.

Note: If a password prompt is blocking you, it belongs to your company's single sign-on or to your Google account, and How do I reset my password? covers where to reset it.

1. My code expired before I could use it

This is the most common cause. A login code only works for 10 minutes after it is sent, so a code you come back to later, even the same day, no longer works.

The fix is a new code:

  1. Return to the Arist login page.

  2. Enter your email address and select Continue.

  3. Check your inbox for the new 6-digit code.

  4. Enter the code within 10 minutes of requesting it.

Tip: Request a code only when you are ready to finish signing in, with your inbox open in another tab. That makes the 10-minute window more time than you need.

2. The code email never arrived

The code is emailed to the address you typed on the login page, so start with the inbox itself:

  • Check your spam and junk folders: Filters often catch short automated messages like a login code, and this is where a missing code usually turns up.

  • Confirm the address you entered: A typo on the login page sends the code to the wrong inbox. Go back and enter your email address again, carefully.

  • Check whether you have blocked the sender: If you have ever blocked or unsubscribed from the address Arist sends from, new codes get filtered before they reach your inbox. Unblock the sender in your mail app, then request a fresh code. See Getting Arist Course Emails in Your Inbox.

  • Ask your IT team whether email from Arist is being filtered: If codes never arrive at your work address and nothing is in spam, your organization's email security may be holding them, and your IT team can release them.

Once you have found the problem, request a fresh code from the login page, because any earlier code has likely passed its 10-minute window while you were looking.

3. Arist rejects the code I entered

If you have a code, you are entering it in time, and it still does not work, check these in order:

  • Make sure the code is under 10 minutes old: Check the time the email arrived rather than its position in your inbox.

  • Use the newest code you were sent: If you requested a code more than once, match the code you enter to the most recent email.

  • Enter all 6 digits exactly: Retype the code rather than trusting a copy and paste, which can pick up an extra space before or after the digits.

the Verify Your Identity screen you land on after submitting your email address, with the address the code was sent to, the Enter the code field, Continue, and the Resend link

If a fresh code, entered promptly and exactly, is still rejected, stop retrying and gather the details in the next section so support can look at your account directly.

4. None of these fixed it

Three details make a support request fast to resolve, so gather them before you write in:

  • The email address you sign in with: This is what support uses to find your account and see what happened to your codes.

  • What happens when you enter the code: Note the exact message you see, word for word.

  • What you have already tried: Requesting a fresh code, checking spam, and retyping the code each rule out a different cause.

Send those to your Arist Org Admin, or email support@arist.co directly.
