[Automated Fulfillment] How To: Activated or Deactivate Product Sizes Automatically when Uploading Images in an Art Print Store

As an Artist using automated fulfillment, you may find yourself regularly uploading many images at one time. Instead of having to Bulk Update them each time or edit their sizes by hand each time, you now have the option to set the sizes you would like activated (based on aspect ratio) upon upload.

  1. Make sure you are logged in to your Art Storefronts Control Panel. This is sometimes referred to as the back-end of the site or the Site Manager. All three mean the same thing.

When you’re sure you’re logged in, scroll down the page and click on the Art Print Store. This is named Warehouse by default, but if you have changed it or created a new one, if you see Art Print Store, you should be good to go.

  2. The Art Print Store will load up and you need to make sure you find the tab labeled INFO and click on it. If you don’t click on the INFO tab, you won’t be able to complete this process and won’t be able to activate or deactivate sizes upon upload.

  3. After that, a new page will load, and you need to scroll down to the section labeled Sizes to Activate by Default (When Uploading New Images).

In this section, you need to enter in the sizes you want to offer by default when you upload your images. The sizes entered here need to be in a width by height format. If this is left blank, all the sizes that are automatically generated (based upon your image’s aspect ratio), will be activated by default whenever you upload a new image.

However, if you enter in "Sizes to Activate by Default" when editing this store, you can override this functionality. This way, whenever you upload a new image, it will ONLY activate the sizes you desire -- so long as these sizes are possible based on the image's aspect ratio.

Warning: If the aspect ratio does not perfectly match a given size, that size will not be listed nor activated by default. WE CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. PLEASE UNDERSTAND YOUR ASPECT RATIOS AND THE SIZES THAT CAN BE OFFERED BASED ON THOSE ASPECT RATIOS.

Art Storefronts Tip: If you set an 8x10 size (which is a 4:5 ratio) in the "Sizes to Activate by Default" field, but your image is a 10x10 (which is a 1:1 ratio), then the 8x10 size will NOT appear as a possible option for that image. It will be ignored for that image.

Given this, the ideal way to use this field is to enter in every size that you would want to activate for all aspect ratios.

  4. After you have entered in the sizes you want to activate, click the Save button. DO NOT click the back button. You will lose the progress you made and will have to restart.
