Important update: Google Calendar’s new policy & what it means for you

Updated over a month ago

Hi there, artists and collectors.

We’ve got an important update about a recent change in Google Calendar that might affect how your bookings appear for your patrons.

What’s happening?

Google has quietly introduced a new setting that hides calendar invites from senders that users haven’t interacted with before in Gmail. This means that if your collectors or buyers use Google Calendar—and you haven’t exchanged emails with them before—your invite might not show up automatically on their calendar.

Instead, they’ll need to manually click “I know the sender” and “Yes” to confirm the invitation. Google says this is to prevent spam, but it affects all scheduling tools, including yours.

What can you do?

Ask your bookers to update their Google Calendar settings

  • They can go to their calendar settings and change “Add invitations to my calendar” from “Only if the sender is known” to “Everyone.”

We’re here to help

We know this change isn’t ideal, and we’re keeping an eye out for better solutions. As soon as there’s a smoother way to handle this, we’ll let you know!
