How do I add a new artwork?
How do I add a new artwork?
Updated over 2 months ago

To add a new artwork, go into your back office. Once there, click on the “Artworks” tab and then on the “New artwork” button to start adding artworks online.

You will then be able to fill in all the necessary information.

1. Fill in the artist

If they already exists choose among the dropdown list, or create their profile.

2. Import the photos of your works:

  • Main image: cropped photograph of the artwork - Images 2, 3, 4, 5... : details of the artwork, the signature, the work in situ, etc.

  • 2 images are required for all artworks except prints and photographs.

  • If possible, please upload images as JPG or JPEG files.

  • The size of the file needs to be less than 10 MB.

  • Your image needs to be at least 600px on one of the sides.

3. Fill in all the required information about the work

The "Artwork title" corresponds to the title. You absolutely must not show:

  • Quotation marks

  • Year of the work

  • Artist’s name

Also be sure to:

  • Do not add '0€' to the "Artwork price" field. Price transparency is a key criterion for Artsper

  • For sculptures, do not fill in the "0 cm", each field must contain the exact dimensions

  • Do not enter an outrageous price (EX. a photo at 150,000€) or your work will never be sold!

  • Do not write "Damaged Works" or "Small Defects", only works in perfect condition are approved on Artsper

  • Do not write "In Good Condition" or something similar. The mention "Work sold in perfect condition" automatically appears on all pages

  • Check the spelling of each personality name entered in the title of work. (EX. Marilyn Monroe, not Marylin Monroe)

  • Do not create several records for a single work, even when several formats of a single work are for sale. Create a single file for the work in question and integrate a single format for the photos (main and others). In this case, mention that the work is available in several formats / dimensions in the description.

4. Presentation of the work

This category is optional but useful if you want to tell more about the work or if it has specificities not indicated in the information in step 3.

Write a concise description of the work without repeating the information entered in the previous fields. To best represent the work, follow these guidelines:

Format:

  • Once the description is complete, it is important to ventilate the text. You can do so by inserting lines between each paragraph to make for easier readability

  • Respect the rules of English punctuation:
    - Leave a space after a colon, exclamation point, question mark, and semicolon, never before
    - Leave a space after using an ellipsis, never before
    - Leave a space after using a comma, never before
    - Do not use an ellipses after "etc", use a period. This abbreviation is always preceded by a comma (EX. blue, red, etc.)

  • Always write in lowercase letters, with the exception of compulsory uppercase use like the first letter of a proper name.

  • Must include the proper accents for both uppercase and lowercase letters

  • The ideal word count is between 100 and 250

The description:

  • Do not repeat any information that has already been completed in the previous fields
Example: do not enter the dimensions, the title, or techniques used ("acrylic on canvas") unless it is new information. For example, you could say, "painting on paper, made by the artist", or "work in scrap materials", etc.

  • Do not mention the works condition as this information automatically appears in the first line under "About the artwork"

  • Do not include "Ideal Investment", as not all collectors but to invest. This is not information that helps them to make the decision to order. Including statements like these will not be approved by our team.

5. Indicate the delivery time and the origin of the work

Below is an example that respects the all the guidelines:
